After retiring, Sheila pursued her life- long dream of being an actress. Her credits include Captain Tom, The Musical, The Spirit of Polk Place, The Christmas Belles, Phantom of The Opera, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and two episodes of the television show, Nashville. (as an extra) . She also did a brief skit of the female version of The Odd Couple at Volunteer State Community College.

She discovered that she would rather write the lines than memorize them. After writing poetry for years, Sheila delved into a new career of being a playwright. There are a number of her plays patiently waiting for a venue. She had a One Act Play, Time To Go, chosen as one of several entered in The Lakewood Theater Playwright Festival. The Oh Bitch You Worry Club was produced in 2022 by Dream 7.Recently her short play, Polly and Pearl, and An Algonquin Goodbye, co-written with John Yudelson are both in production with Dream 7 Productions.
