Perspectives of an African American Journey is a powerful theatrical exploration of the Black American experience, told through a compelling collection of stories, poetry, humor, history, and contemporary reflections.

From the sacrifices of our ancestors to the realities facing Black families today, Perspectives invites audiences to examine where we came from, what we have endured, what we have built, and where we are going.

Through unexpected encounters across generations, the play explores themes of family, fatherhood, education, identity, technology, community, trauma, resilience, Black excellence, and the complicated ways we sometimes see ourselves—and one another.

What happens when the comforts we take for granted are stripped away? What would we discover about ourselves, our ancestors, and the world we have inherited?

Funny, thought-provoking, deeply human, and unapologetically Black, Perspectives challenges audiences to look beyond the surface and consider a question that has no single answer:

Whose perspective tells the whole story?

Because our history is more than what happened to us.

It is also the story of what we chose to become.
